Support Services
Summit
Fiscal Agency
provides Personal Support Services
to consumers who receive funding under the MR/RC
Waiver. Personal Support is a traditional service that
has been available to consumers for a number of years. This
service helps a person increase independence, productivity and
involvement in the community. Personal Support is more flexible
and less formal than licensed services and includes supervision
and assistance to help a person find and use community services
and participate in community activities. This service can be
provided in the person’s home or in the community.
With recent changes in the Consumer Directed Community Supports
(CDCS) program Personal Support has become more of a viable
option for consumers that would like to maintain a similar level
of control over their services if they leave CDCS. Summit has
developed a group of services under Personal Support that allows
consumers and families the ability to continue to receive staffing
support, mileage, home modifications and even the purchase of
goods and other services.
Summit Fiscal Agency partners with consumers and families
through the hiring of employees. This is a dual employer arrangement
which allows consumers and families to recruit, screen, hire,
train, supervise and evaluate employees. You set their wages
and mileage reimbursement rate when you set your individual
budget. We provide you with all the tools and materials you
need to manage your employees according to our policies and
procedures as well as manage your use of the waiver. |
